Claude Royet-Journoud was born in 1941 in Lyon, France. His publications in French and English include Le Renversement, La Notion d’Obstacle, Les Objects contiennent l’infini, & Les Natures indivisibles, The Crowded Circle, Le Collet de Buffle, Reversal, Até, and The Right Wall of the Heart Effaced. He was co-founder & co-editor, along with Anne-Marie Albiach & Michel Couturier, of the journal Siècle à mains (1963-70). He later edited the small journal “A” (with Alain Veinstein) and Zuk. With Emmanuel Hocquard, he edited two anthologies of American poetry, 21+1: Poètes américains d’aujourd’hui, & 49+1: nouveaux poètes américains. His work been translated widely into English Greek, Spanish, Italian, Portugese, Romanian. He currently lives in Paris.
