For 25 years, Litmus has championed writing that expands the boundaries of literature. This anniversary year marks a rare opportunity to secure the long-term future of this work.
The initial phase of our 25th Anniversary Campaign has established a reserve fund that secures meaningful stability. The next phase of our year-long campaign will address immediate needs. We have big ambitions for what a small press can make possible. To imagine a future that everyone can inhabit, we need big support.
Together, these phases position Litmus for long-term strength and continuity, creating the conditions to continue taking artistic risks, steward our archives and acquired press legacies with care, and develop new resources for the appreciation of complex works.

The reader quickly notices that Adnan refrains from following the traditional subject, verb, object sentence patterns and invents semantic and lexical items throughout her book. Sometimes, Adnan creates an auditory effect by adding vowels to words like “feever” and “stoooory.” Other times, her words are separated by slashes, hyphens, brackets, asterisks, and question marks or are followed by arrows and colons rather than dashes… Adnan’s use of such symbols conveys the illogic of war’s logic without ever mentioning the word “war.”
