Ted Berrigan (1934-1983), a central figure in the second generation of New York School poets, was the author of more than 20 books, including Bean Spasms, with Ron Padgett and Joe Brainard (Kulchur Press, 1967); The Sonnets (1964); Red Wagon (The Yellow Press, 1976); So Going Around Cities (Blue Wind Press, 1980); and A Certain Slant of Sunlight (O Books, 1988). The editor and publisher of C Magazine, he also wrote art criticism and became an influential mentor to an entire generation of writers.
