Elizabeth Treadwell

Born in Oakland, California, in 1967, Elizabeth Treadwell’s collections of poetry include Birds & Fancies (2007) and Posy: a charm almanack & atlas (2015). Her most recent, Penny Marvel & the book of the city of selfys (2018), has been praised by Stephanie Burt at the Yale Review and Tyrone Williams at Dispatches from the Poetry Wars. A selection from her earlier books is included in Out of Everywhere 2: Linguistically Innovative Poetry by Women in North America & the UK (2015). A former director of Small Press Traffic Literary Arts Center in San Francisco and Lark Books & Writing Studio in Oakland, Treadwell now teaches at the College of Alameda and the Oakland School for the Arts. Treadwell is currently completing a novel and a collection of essays. Her new poetry collection, Starlit, is forthcoming from Chax Press, and materials of its creation can be seen at Vivian Rialto.
